July Favourites 2013

This month i didn't really use many 'new' products, as i didn't have time to be buying/trying out new things (thanks to deadlines at school), so i decided to just pick a few products which i have really been enjoying!

'Dotted Middle'

Another one of my favourite super easy 'nail art' (if you can even call it that) looks. I saw this look on tumblr a couple of weeks ago and thought i would try it out! I absolutely love the way it looks, again, so simple! I'm sure it's pretty self explanatory how i achieved this look.  If you want to know how i explained in my last nail blog post 'The Dot' so follow this but just do more dots on top of the one by the cuticle. See, Easy!

Mint Nails!

Barry M - Mint Green

This Nail Varnish has been in my collection for about three years now and I've only just rediscovered it. Mint Green is one of my all time favourite colours and i have several mint colours in my collection and this one was always forgotten about. I find that the formula of this product isn't as great as some of my other Barry M colours as you do need to do about three coats to get it opaque.

'The Dot'

This is one of my new favourite 'Nail Art' tricks, however it isn't really 'art' as it''s so simple! All you need is a base/top coat, two different colour nail varnish's and some kind of dotting tool (you can either buy one (i brought mine from Avon it has a dotting tool on one end and a small paint brush on the other) or you can use a bobbie pin or cotton bud.

Maybelline Polka Dots

Maybelline Color Show Polka Dots - These are limited addition nail polishes from the drugstore/high street. It took me a while to find a store that still had some in stock so they are obviously very popular. They are definitely very good dupes for the Illamasqua Speckle Nail Polishes (however they are more nude colours), i have never tried these but have heard good things about them, they are more pricey at £14.50 unlike the Maybelline ones which are at £2.99.

Top Five Spring Nail Polishes

So as my first post i figured it would be good to do something i'm very much 'obsessed' with, Nail Varnish. Ever since i was younger i always loved to sit and do my nails, however going to a secondary school that didn't allow this 'distracting' piece of existence i had to stick to boring old clear. Since summer of 2012 my collection has grown rather a lot, being a 'mature' sixth former now, we are allowed to wear the wonderful thing.
